Lewis Hamilton has remained one of the more underwhelming drivers in terms of performance. The Briton expected a great performance in his debut season with Ferrari. However, the entirety of the 2025 season has been a massive disappointment for him. Despite his recent struggles, Hamilton clearly states that he does not regret joining the Italian constructor.

After consecutive disappointing outings, Lewis Hamilton had labeled his Ferrari debut as a nightmare. The Briton suffered from his career-worst qualifying session at the Las Vegas GP after coming in dead last. Though Hamilton climbed ten positions on track in the race, he was still disappointed with the results. Even though the times are tough, the 40-year-old isn’t giving up on the dream that he had while joining the Scuderia.

When questioned if Lewis Hamilton would still sign with Ferrari if he knew the outcome of his debut season, he had a blunt answer. The seven-time champion insisted that it was a hypothetical question, and it was pointless to answer it.

However, he clarified that he would absolutely sign with the Italian constructor. Hamilton reassured that he had no regrets about joining Ferrari, regardless of the massive disappointments up until this point.

Lewis Hamilton reckoned that it was bound to take him some time to get accustomed to the environment at Ferrari. He shockingly claimed that he expected such difficulties in his debut season, and nothing was out of the ordinary. The Briton insisted that he and the crew at Maranello had a lot of work to do over the winter season and ensure a better start to the 2026 season.

Firstly, that is a hypothetical question, and I wouldn’t really go into that. But I would absolutely, I don’t regret the decision I made in joining the team. I know it takes to build and grow within an organisation, and I expected that. We have a lot of work to do over the winter and we’ll analyse the season and there are lots of improvements we need to make collectively.

Lewis Hamilton told RacingNews365.

Lewis Hamilton claims he’s ‘still getting used to’ the crew at Ferrari

Certainly, it was expected that Lewis Hamilton to find it difficult to integrate into the all-Italian crew at Ferrari easily. The Briton was unable to bring his long-time engineer Bono to Maranello, which meant he was faced with a completely new crew. As such, Hamilton asserted that he was still getting used to the new faces at the Scuderia.

Lewis Hamilton pointed out that on his side of the garage, he had a new environment and group of people. He asserted that he was still getting used to working with them. Moreover, he had a new member on the team mid-way through the season. Hamilton reassured that it might take him some time, but he would ultimately get used to it and return to his winning ways.

On my side, it is a new group of people, a new environment for me, and I’m still getting used to working with them, and then I had a new member halfway through the year, so we’re working as hard as we can. But getting it to work as well as someone who has had it for several years, you just don’t do it like that; it takes a bit of time.

Lewis Hamilton noted.

The 2025 season is almost finished, and Lewis Hamilton could finish the entire season with no podium finishes to his name for the first time in his F1 career. It certainly wouldn’t be a good finish to his debut year with Ferrari. However, he can turn it all around in the 2026 season and start scoring much better results than expected.
