Lewis Hamilton‘s debut year at Ferrari has been challenging. The 40-year-old is giving it his best but is still unable to score good enough results. Hamilton’s best result this season is only a sprint race win in China, as he is yet to even achieve a podium finish. Following the Hungarian GP, the teams and drivers will have a month-long summer break as the seven-time champion anticipates a lot of emotional moments over the break.
Lewis Hamilton has remained vocal about the issues he has been facing at Ferrari in terms of performance. The frustration seems to only grow for the 40-year-old since he cannot compete for a podium finish, let alone a race win. As such, with the summer break upcoming, Hamilton would finally get a much-needed break following the ups and downs of the 2025 season.
Speaking on his dismal time with Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton reckoned that he had to integrate into a new culture and a new team, which didn’t turn out as great as he expected. Hamilton acknowledged that the transition wasn’t smooth in a lot of areas. Additionally, he reflected upon the first half of the 2025 season and labeled it a real battle in terms of performance.

Lewis Hamilton pinpointed that he needed to get away from Ferrari and Formula 1 over the summer break and get a recharge. The 40-year-old looks forward to spending a lot of time with the kids under his Mission 44 program and laughing with them. Hamilton shockingly claimed that he would definitely let out some tears due to the extremely challenging season with the Italian constructor.

Lewis Hamilton labels Ferrari debut season as ‘most intense’ in F1 career
Lewis Hamilton has faced a lot of struggles in performance ever since the beginning of the ground-effect era. Even though Hamilton’s problems at Mercedes seemed to be difficult, his time at Ferrari is different in its own way. As such, the 40-year-old reflects on the season so far and provides a brutal verdict on his true feelings about his debut year.

Hamilton noted that a lot of the seasons in the past had been hard in their own way. While Ferrari is giving it their all to improve their performance, the seven-time champion labeled his time at the Scuderia as the most intense one. The Briton further explained that the increased intensity was due to the workload of racing for the most historic and iconic team in the pinnacle of motorsport.
The last god knows how many seasons have been hard in their own way. This one has definitely been the most intense one, I would say, just from a work perspective.
