Lewis Hamilton‘s nightmare debut year at Ferrari continues even at the Las Vegas GP. It seems to be a recurring theme for Hamilton now to show up in Practice sessions with decent results but suffer from a downfall in the main sessions.
The Sin City Qualifying was one of the worst results for the 40-year-old as he qualified in dead last for the main race. Now, the seven-time champion makes a horrible remark on his P20 start for the third and final American race.
The uncertain weather and grip conditions at the Las Vegas GP proved to be the deciding factor for many drivers’ starting positions on Sunday. While the likes of Lando Norris, Max Verstappen, and others managed to maintain a positive performance, Lewis Hamilton struggled big time.
The visibility issues at the circuit, coupled with a lack of grip, caused Hamilton to face a stern challenge to achieve a good starting position for Sin City. Now, Lewis Hamilton delivers a brutal take on how it felt for him to qualify in P20 for the Las Vegas GP.
The Briton noted that he felt horrible, and it certainly didn’t make him feel any better to start the race from plum last. Hamilton reckoned that now he couldn’t do anything other than let it all go and hope to improve results as soon as possible.
Lewis Hamilton insisted that he would try hard and hope to achieve a comeback on track at the main race of the Las Vegas GP. Hamilton reassured everyone that he did everything he could do in terms of preparation in the practice sessions leading up to the Qualifying. He even noted that he felt amazing during the FP3 and hoped for much better results. Now, all will be to play for in the main event as the 40-year-old hopes to atleast achieve a points finish.
Obviously, it feels horrible. It doesn’t feel good. But all I can do is I’ve just got to let it go by, I’m going to try and come back tomorrow. I’ve done everything I could possibly do in terms of preparation, in terms of getting all the practice sessions. Today was feeling amazing in P3.

Lewis Hamilton claims Ferrari debut year ‘definitely the hardest’
Lewis Hamilton’s best result throughout the 2025 season is only a sprint race win in China, with no podiums or P1 finishes in the main race. The Briton even talked about his debut year at Ferrari being a nightmare for him, as it was nothing like he had hoped for. Now, Hamilton delivered yet another brutal opinion on his debut season with the Italian constructor.

Speaking on a P20 start for the Las Vegas GP, Lewis Hamilton reckoned that he couldn’t get a good lap at the end of the Qualifying session. Though he explained that he felt like he was among the quickest drivers on track and could’ve achieved a much better start.
Despite all the positive feelings, he ended up coming in P20, which wasn’t a good feeling. Hence, the 40-year-old ultimately claimed that his debut season with Maranello was definitely the hardest for him in many terms.
I just didn’t get a lap at the end, but I felt like we were quickest. And then you come out of qualifying 20th. This year is definitely the hardest year. We’ll try tomorrow. I think we’ve got a really good car. It’ll be really, really hard to come back from 20th.
Lewis Hamilton noted.
Certainly, Lewis Hamilton will hope to finish the 2025 season as quickly as possible and start afresh in the coming season. The Briton has already shifted his priority to the upcoming season and emerging as a winning force by then. It will be interesting to witness how the seven-time champion manages to turn his performance around at Ferrari in the coming year.
