Lewis Hamilton has suffered from a dismal performance slump in the 2025 season with Ferrari. Despite his massive debut with the most historic team in F1, Hamilton has failed to exceed expectations with the team. The Briton is yet to score a podium finish, let alone a race win, with the Scuderia. To make matters worse, the team isn’t bringing in updates that the seven-time champion wants in the SF-25 challenger, as he reveals the reason behind it.
Ferrari’s lacklustre performance in the 2025 season has caused Lewis Hamilton massive struggles to bring home good results. In the first 17 outings, the Briton has only achieved a single sprint race win in China. Hamilton has accepted the team and his shortcomings in performance and is hoping to achieve a turnaround on track.
Maranello has also likely given up on succeeding in the constructors’ title this year, as they have lost the P2 spot to Mercedes already. Lewis Hamilton is already going through an extremely difficult phase in his professional career. Now, the 40-year-old recently suffered from the loss of his beloved pet dog Roscoe, who passed away after a long-fought battle with Pneumonia.
As such, the Singaporean GP would definitely be an emotional rollercoaster for the seven-time champion in the pinnacle of motorsport. Speaking on the lack of updates in the SF-25, Lewis Hamilton revealed the reasons behind it. The Briton noted that he would give anything for upgrades in his car, especially after he sent documents to the team with the possible upgrades.
The 40-year-old explained that Ferrari’s current focus was on the challenger of the upcoming season under new regulations. He continued that the team must do a better job at execution and optimizing results with whatever equipment they have in their hands.
I would give anything for an upgrade, but obviously, we don’t have that as the focus is on next year’s car, so we just have to do better in optimising and with execution.
Lewis Hamilton said, as reported by RacingNews365.
Lewis Hamilton hopes for an ‘interesting’ Singapore GP
Lewis Hamilton is one of the most successful drivers at the Singapore GP. Hamilton has won over four times at the circuit in the past. While the current season has been extremely difficult with Ferrari, anything can happen in the main race. Keeping in mind the contingencies of the Marina Bay Circuit, the Briton hopes for an interesting outing with Maranello, no matter the results.

Lewis Hamilton asserted that the Singapore GP was not one of the most exciting racing events on the calendar. The Briton explained that a good qualifying position made all the difference in the final race results.
As such, Hamilton hoped that the race would contain some rainy conditions on track, which would make the race more exciting and increase his chances of achieving a much better finish regardless of the qualifying positions. Moreover, the 40-year-old accepted that a podium finish in Singapore would be nice, but it wouldn’t change much for him in terms of his championship chances this year.
[Singapore] is not one of the most exciting races, so qualifying is going to be everything, and then I hope it rains or something like that, so it at least makes it a little bit interesting. It’d be nice, but it is not really going to change much for me.
Lewis Hamilton noted.
Ferrari still has to cover a massive amount of ground in improvement if they seriously want to battle with Mercedes for the runner-up finish. As things currently are, Maranello will also lose the P3 spot to Red Bull, who is seemingly returning back to their winning ways. As such, Lewis Hamilton must perform well in the final seven races and salvage any and all points available in the 2025 season.
