Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari had high ambitions for the 2025 F1 season. The seven-time world champion hoped for a turnaround in his career with the dream move to the Scuderia. Unfortunately, this has been far from the case. Hamilton has struggled to feel comfortable at Maranello. Now, the 40-year-old has admitted that the team is hesitant in trying some of his ideas.

From the start of the season in Melbourne, Lewis Hamilton has not fully adjusted himself to his new team. The British driver faced the difficulty with the switches in the Ferrari car, after having raced in Mercedes machinery for almost two decades. These struggles correlated to performances on track, with only a Sprint win to his name in the first seven races. Though, the Emilia Romagna GP became a good result for Hamilton as he made an impressive recovery to fourth place.

Following the Imola weekend, Lewis Hamilton revealed that he has a few ideas in his bag that he thinks could bring something for the Prancing Horse. The Briton publicly claimed that some personnel at Maranello have not been eager in his ideas. However, Hamilton insisted that this reluctance might be due to the various things already on the team’s plate at the moment.

I’ve got some ideas that I’m going to try and apply this week that people have been a little bit reluctant to do it, I think because we’ve had lots of other things to focus on. But hopefully we can find something, some more performance.

Lewis Hamilton said, as quoted by PlanetF1.

Lewis Hamilton has ‘no idea’ ahead of Monaco GP

In the first seven rounds of 2025, Lewis Hamilton has not really achieved anything to write home about. Even the Sprint triumph in China was overshadowed a day later after both Ferraris were disqualified from the race. This has been a trend this year, when even a few glimpses of hope get thrashed by a string of poor results for the Italian team.

Now, Formula 1 heads to Monaco, the jewel of the sport’s calendar and also Lewis Hamilton’s residence. The seven-time world champion confessed that heading into this weekend, he had no idea what to expect from the SF25 in comparison to the rest of the grid.

The 40-year-old asserted that the team would need to try and extract the maximum pace out of the car, particularly in Qualifying, something Ferrari has struggled to do so far.

Obviously the next race is all low, so we’ve got to see how we can try and pull some more [performance] out. Every race I go to is the first time with this car, so I really have no idea what a Ferrari feels like [in Monaco].

Lewis Hamilton added.

Certainly, Lewis Hamilton would love to get a good result in Monaco. The race is the most prestigious round in F1 and is part of motorsport’s unofficial Triple Crown, alongside the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Indy 500.

However, this will remain a challenge for Hamilton. The Monaco GP is primarily based on the aerodynamics of a car and driver’s skills, with no room for error. The seven-time world champion will not have any hopes of winning the race if he continues to feel uneasy with the car this weekend.
