Mercedes delivered an impressive performance at the Spanish GP, with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell securing P3 and P4 respectively. Hamilton finished in the top three for the first time in the 2024 F1 season.

Lewis Hamilton during an interview was asked, whether racing feels as exciting now as it did in his debut season. Hamilton explained, that the thrill of racing is still there for him and it’s good to have races like Spain, the Spanish GP was really enjoyable for him. He mentioned that Barcelona has consistently offered exciting races and has been a successful track for him throughout his career.

I think so, yeah. Yeah, I mean, it feels good to have races like [Spain].That was a really good, fun one for me. Barcelona always puts up a good race. And it’s been a strong one for me for many years.

Lewis Hamilton added that everyone needs good days to remind themselves of their passion. He highlighted the excitement and drive to race are still strong for him. Hamilton described it as a fire that must keep burning brightly. It shows that his love for racing is still very much present. The seven-time-world champion believed that it’s important to continue feeding this passion and energy to keep it strong.

For him it’s exciting to be back in a competitive position, and it feels good to be fighting for top spot again. Hamilton explained that he wants to keep improving and building on this positive momentum. However, he also highlighted the importance of not getting carried away. The Briton emphasized that while things are looking up, they need to stay focused and keep working hard.
