Lewis Hamilton‘s shock switch to Ferrari in 2025 remains a highly debated move on the grid. Mercedes’ lackluster performance in recent seasons has been rumored to be the reason for Hamilton’s decision. Amidst the performance slump, the seven-time world champion reckoned that he didn’t regret the switch in teams.

Lewis Hamilton had always taken a neutral stance when questioned regarding his reasons for switching the team. The Briton had pinpointed the move to Ferrari as one of his ‘childhood dreams’ a while back. Hence, the seven-time world champion highlighted that he didn’t need to vindicate any of his decisions. Additionally, Hamilton asserted that he knew what was right for him when he decided to switch to Maranello.

I don't feel like I need my decision vindicating, I think I know what is right for me and that hasn't changed since the moment that I made the decision.

Hamilton opened up and mentioned that he had never questioned his own decisions. The Briton highlighted that he wasn’t swayed by other people’s opinions over his decisions. Additionally, the 39-year-old pointed out how people were ‘talking sh*t’ over the entire ordeal and would continue for the rest of the year. However, Hamilton was unfazed by these comments and was confident in his final call.

There's not been a moment where I've questioned it and I'm not swayed by other people's comments. Even today, there's people continuing to talk shit, and it will continue on for the rest of the year.

Mercedes’ poor performance in the ground-effect era has been quite prevalent in the past two seasons. Hamilton even lamented the entire performance struggle as ‘complex’ for Mercedes to figure out. Regardless, the seven-time world champion claimed that over time he would understand time and energy management. Additionally, Hamilton ushered positivity over the situation and added that he got up to do his best amidst the mediocre conditions.

I think over time you understand how to manage your time and your energy and your recovery, And just realising that every day is a new day and you get up and try your best.

Apart from this, Lewis Hamilton declared he and the team were leaving no stone unturned. The Briton mentioned that he was thinking about this all the time while performing at the pinnacle of motorsport. Hence, regardless of the disappointing pace, the 39-year-old is confident regarding his chances in this season.

So it's really more about where you put your energy into. It's the communication with the team, it's continuing to try to leave no stone unturned. And me personally, it's something I'm thinking about all the time.
