Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton have scored a great turnaround in results as compared to the disappointing start to the season. The Briton scored his long-awaited race victory in front of the home crowd in Britain after a gap of 945 days.

Additionally, the Hungarian GP always saw a great end for Brackley and the former world champion. Hence, Hamilton voiced his contentment with the great results.

Lewis Hamilton has continued to score impressive results after the highly coveted British GP victory. However, the Hungarian GP marked the 200th career podium for the seven-time world champion. The Briton has further extended his record of most career podium finishes. Subsequently, the 39-year-old thanked his team for the impressive results.

Hamilton first thanked his race engineer Bono over the podium finish and noted that he couldn’t have done it without the team. The Briton noted that he couldn’t have achieved these results without the hard-working crew in Brackley. As a result, the 39-year-old was ‘thankful’ to the Mercedes crew for the great results in Hungary.

Lewis Hamilton overtakes Sergio Perez in drivers’ championship after Hungary podium

Lewis Hamilton’s victory in Britain and the other podium finishes have fetched great points for the driver. The Briton currently finds himself in the sixth position of the world drivers’ championship after a podium finish in Hungary. The 39-year-old has already surpassed his teammate George Russell who was in great form during the early stages of 2024.

In addition to this, Hamilton has overtaken Sergio Perez amidst the latter’s trying times at Red Bull. Milton Keynes is in grave danger of being ousted from the top spot by the in-form rivals. Hence, the 2024 season builds up further in competition just before the summer break.

Red Bull will continue to bring upgrades to the chassis and further upgrades over the summer break. Mercedes is in great shape currently and would have to retain their current form. McLaren has dominated the playing field mid-way through the 2024 season and has a great shot at championship contention.
