Lewis Hamilton has finally made his Ferrari debut at preseason testing in Bahrain. The seven-time world champion took to track in the SF-25 on day 1 to get up to speed with his new machine. Now, the Briton has expressed positive feelings after the session.

Hamilton emphasized that preseason testing is always an exciting part of Formula 1. Drivers and teams finally uncover what they had worked on over the winter break, and they get to see what their rivals have done as well. Moreover, Lewis Hamilton mentioned that he could finally get a feel of how the car would fare over the course of the year.

Testing is always exciting. It’s the first time you get to see what everyone has been developing and can start to get a feel for your own car and the year ahead.

The British driver made it clear that the Scuderia was focused on experimenting with a variety of aspects in the coming day. Maranello hoped to gain ample data and familiarize its drivers with the Ferrari SF-25. Hamilton reckoned that the team had already learnt a lot during the first day of the test.

It is still early days, with no clues over whether the Scuderia has made a big step up against the likes of McLaren and Red Bull.
