It would probably been when I decided to join Mercedes. I think that there was a specific time and I was in Thailand at the time between a race, after Singapore and that's when I made the decision. I was like I was like I want to take the leap of faith.

Lewis Hamilton wants Mercedes to check if upgrades are actually ‘delivering’

The Mercedes F1 team arrived in Zandvoort on the back of three wins before the summer break. Moreover, the outfit looked strong in the practice sessions but things kind of fizzled out during qualifying and the main race.

George Russell and Lewis Hamilton came away with P7 and P8 finishes and after the event, the latter especially, was very disappointed.

I think the car definitely didn’t feel as strong as the last race for some reason. We need to look into that, whether our upgrade is actually delivering or not, we have to wait and see.

The Brackley-based team has been on an upward trajectory at the pinnacle of motor racing. The Zandvoort weekend was a bit of a shocker but there are still nine races remaining in the 2024 season.

Next up on the F1 calendar is the Italian GP and if Mercedes gets things right there, it could thrust the outfit into another positive spell for the coming races. Hamilton and Co. will surely be eyeing as many race wins as possible going forward.
