Lewis Hamilton is the only black driver to ever race in Formula 1. The Briton has faced immense backlash and hate throughout his career for the color of his skin. However, the seven-time world champion asserted that he never pays attention to such comments.
Hamilton has made it clear that he cannot be compared to anyone else in Formula 1. The 40-year-old successfully dominated a white man’s sport and solidified himself as one of the greatest of all time. This only increased criticism against the F1 star.
The seven-time world champion revealed that he never bothers to respond to any hate he receives from older, white men. Lewis Hamilton noted that these men would often comment on the way he would dress or present him in the paddock. Recently, ex-F1 Supremo Bernie Ecclestone had made similar comments on Hamilton’s outfits.
I never, ever reply to any of the older, ultimately, white men who have commented on my career and what they think I should be doing. How you show up, how you present yourself, how you perform slowly dispels that.

Lewis Hamilton uses negative comments as “fuel”
The Ferrari driver has learnt how to deal with negativity in Formula 1. Instead of letting such comments affect him, Lewis Hamilton uses them as fuel to push himself even further on-track. This has been the case for the Briton for a long time and not just about his recent decline at Mercedes over the past year.

And it really doesn’t matter to me, some of the comments that have come out over my career. It’s not just been this past 12 months or so. I just use that as fuel.

Lewis Hamilton knows how to deal with critics after spending his entire career at the receiving end of unwarranted comments. The 40-year-old simply focuses on his on-track performances. Now, Hamilton will be looking to silence the recent criticism over his form, by getting back to his peak this season with Scuderia Ferrari.
