Lewis Hamilton Feels ‘Like a New Person’ After Ferrari’s 2026 Car Launch

Lewis Hamilton has been backed by a majority of the people in the community following the positive start to the 2026 season. After suffering from a nightmare of a debut back in 2025, the Briton is hoping to start the new year on the right foot. Following positive results in the test session, Hamilton is feeling as excited as a kid and is looking forward to starting the season as soon as possible.

Over the winter break, Lewis Hamilton appeared to be far from social media and worked on himself and moving on from the 2025 season. The Briton sparked some rumors about dating the internet sensation, Kim Kardashian. Now, following a couple of romantic getaways with Kardashian and test sessions, Hamilton feels like a completely new person.

Lewis Hamilton insisted that it wasn’t his first rodeo to move on from the struggles and flip things at Ferrari. However, his focus always remained on cultivating a positive mental attitude. Hamilton spent his winter break doing exactly that, and a lot of it happened because of constant training. The seven-time champion found it hard to believe that he had been training since Christmas.

It’s not my first rodeo, so it’s understanding how to flip things and it’s not that easy to do each time, but I always talk about cultivating a positive mental attitude and that’s what I focused on my winter doing. A lot of it came from training. So I was training hard from Christmas day, also knowing that I find it hard. I believe in myself that I’ve put more work in than anyone around me and I believe in myself and rediscovering myself was really a big part of it as well.

After adapting such a positive mindset, Lewis Hamilton highlighted that he was feeling like a new person. He reassured that he lost sight of himself for some time over the 2025 season, but all that was in the past now. Hamilton noted that the old him was gone, and the fans would not be able to see him ever again. As such, it is safe to say that the 41-year-old is rejuvenated for the new season and is up for the new challenge.

I think I kind of lost sight for a second of who I was and that person’s gone, so you won’t see that person again.

Lewis Hamilton reveals “positive mental frame of mind” for the 2026 season

Lewis Hamilton will also have a new crew at Ferrari, as his previous race engineer, Ricciardo Adami, has been replaced by Carlo Santi. As such, Hamilton will also have some new faces in his crew and will hopefully have a better time around in the 2026 season. The 41-year-old revealed how he had built up some frustration over the 2025 season and lashed out at Adami, but it was all in sporting spirit.

Hamilton accepted that a lot of drivers had a point of reckoning in their lives, and it was completely natural. He must pick himself back up, evaluate the situation, and eventually come back with a positive mental frame of mind. Ultimately, Hamilton feels great arriving back on the track, working on training.

It was just something that built up over a period of time and I think it’s normal. Lots of people have that at some point through their lives. It’s important that you pick yourself back up and you evaluate where you’ve been and as I said, come back with that positive mental frame of mind. So I feel great arriving here: training has been fantastic, the work with the team has been amazing.

Despite the positive indicators right now, Lewis Hamilton still has a massive impending challenge for him. Ferrari’s pace, albeit promising so far, the rival teams have achieved great development as well. Hence, the final picture will be visible only after the first few races.
