Lewis Hamilton is undoubtedly one of the greatest drivers of all time. The seven-time world champion starts his journey with Scuderia Ferrari this year. Now, Hamilton has revealed whether he will continue to use a popular phrase at his new team.

At Mercedes, Hamilton became synonymous with the term, “hammer-time.” His race engineer, Bono would simply say the word, and Lewis Hamilton would know exactly what to do. Thus, it is no surprise that fans hoped to have this phrase continue during the Briton’s stint at Maranello.

Lewis Hamilton admitted that he has not discussed this with his new race engineer. The 40-year-old reckoned that the term might be odd to hear with an Italian accent. Rather, he hinted at potentially finding a word in Italian for the same message this season.

I haven’t spoken to my engineer about that. I don’t know how it would sound with an Italian accent, so I’ll have to find an Italian word, probably. We’ll probably find something new.

Lewis Hamilton studying ‘day and night’ at Ferrari

The seven-time world champion revealed that some things were different at Ferrari, particularly the names of components. So much so, that Hamilton sits with his computer every day to learn the new names. Though, the 40-year-old insisted that this was just the part of a learning process when someone shifts to a new environment after over a decade.

I’ve got it on my computer and I’m studying it each day and night to make sure I understand when they talk about these different components. I’ve done 12 years in another place where we talked about the same thing all the time. It’s part of the learning process and that’s what makes it exciting, because it’s all new.

Lewis Hamilton explained

Lewis Hamilton is extremely excited for the latest chapter of his career. The F1 star will leave no stone unturned to get up to speed at Maranello. However, the real test for the seven-time world champion will only begin when he takes the SF-25 on-track for Qualifying in the Melbourne season-opener.
