Lewis Hamilton suffered from a massive personal loss of not just his pet dog, but a part of his family in Roscoe. The English Bulldog was a big internet personality, often being spotted walking cutely with Hamilton. The furry friend was already battling pneumonia and still lived to be 13 years of age.

As such, Roscoe spent a great and enjoyable life before passing away from a long and painful coma of over four days. Lewis Hamilton took to social media and revealed the deeply saddening news. Roscoe‘s fan following was just as great, if not more than Hamilton’s.

The Bulldog was also recently part of his own silly magazine ‘Dogue’, following the Briton’s involvement with Vogue. Thankfully, the 40-year-old had a few personal days before the race weekend of the Singapore GP and could spend some time alone to deal with the loss.

Now, Lewis Hamilton has appeared for the Singapore GP and the media duties after suffering from such a massive personal loss. Hamilton revealed that he received a lot of messages over the recent days. The Briton labeled the massive support as overwhelming, as he was not aware of how many people’s lives Roscoe had touched over the years.

Speaking on his reaction to the wishes, Lewis Hamilton labeled the entire ordeal as heartwarming, the support from the fans. The Briton accepted that he was not able to respond to each and every consolation that he received from the people.

Hamilton insisted that Roscoe was one of the most important things in his life, and having to deal with such a loss was extremely difficult for him. Though with the massive support of the fans, the Briton will definitely feel a feeling of oneness from the people and move on from the loss quicker than he expects.

Yeah, lots of messages. Quite overwhelming, to be honest, to see just how many people Roscoe touched around the world, and really heartwarming to receive, I’ve not been able to reply to everybody, but he was the most important thing in my life, so it was a very difficult experience.

Lewis Hamilton said, as reported by motorsport.com.

Lewis Hamilton already ‘looking forward’ to racing in Formula 1

To make matters worse, Lewis Hamilton’s debut season with Ferrari has remained insignificant. The Briton is unable to fare well in his professional career this year. To deal with such great emotions all at the same time would definitely be difficult for the 40-year-old.

Regardless, these feelings would only motivate Hamilton to further give it his all on the track and achieve the best results possible. Lewis Hamilton acknowledged that many people in the world have gone through and dealt with such massive personal losses.

Hamilton added that it was an amazing experience to grow up with Roscoe over the years and have him be such a massive part of his life. However, now, the 40-year-old had to focus on the other important things. As such, the seven-time champion felt ready to get back in the car and do what he loves to do in his career.

I know so many people in the world have gone through it and know what it’s like to have a pet that gives you such amazing love, and it’s an amazing experience. But I’m really just looking forward to now just getting back in the car and doing what I love doing here.

Lewis Hamilton noted

The 2025 season has been one to forget for Lewis Hamilton, especially after Roscoe’s death. The English Bulldog was one of the most influential pet dogs and hence was loved dearly. Many people mourn the loss of the furry friend but will keep him alive in their thoughts and prayers. Hamilton will definitely keep feeling the massive support from the fans over the coming weeks as he deals with the personal loss with many people behind him.
