Lewis Hamilton has showcased a decent performance in his final season with Mercedes. The Briton headed into the 2024 campaign with no hopes of ending it on a high. However, the 39-year-old scored two highly coveted race wins and performed well. Regardless, multiple individuals still berated the seven-time world champion, which Hamilton couldn’t quite understand.

Lewis Hamilton is one of the greatest if not the greatest talents in the sport solely due to his performances. The Briton has enjoyed an era of utter dominance where he was loved a lot by everyone. However, with great dominance comes great hate from the fans as Hamilton is still ill-talked a lot. He noted that many people still talked ‘sh*t’ about him in media or amongst the drivers.

Speaking of the massive hate, Hamilton believed there was no correct response to these comments. The seven-time world champion claimed that there was no point in replying to the untoward hate. However, showing up to the grid unfazed and continuing to perform well mattered more than the response to the hate.

Lewis Hamilton named as motorsport’s most marketable athlete in 2024

Irrespective of the massive hate hurled towards Lewis Hamilton, the Briton continued to showcase his racing mettle. The Briton defied all odds and continued to show up on race weekends with a happy face and great performances. Hence, amidst the ongoing season, Hamilton achieved yet another massive feat in his career in the pinnacle of motorsport.

Lewis Hamilton was recently crowned motorsport’s most marketable athlete in 2024. Hamilton topped SportsPro’s annual list of the top 50 most marketable athletes for the 12th time in his career. Hence, it is safe to assume that despite the hate, the Briton will continue to remain a favorite driver for a majority of the people on the grid.

The 2024 season witnessed a great performance improvement from the Briton despite a mediocre W15 chassis. Hamilton will continue to be remembered as a great person apart from his performances in Formula 1. The 39-year-old has etched his name in the record books due to his several amazing personality traits.
