Lewis Hamilton has already started partaking in multiple testing sessions with Ferrari to get up to speed in the upcoming season. The Italian constructor’s close vicinity to the Fiorano and Barcelona circuit enabled them to take multiple tests. Hence, amidst the preparations, Hamilton is reportedly set to test the Pirelli tires for the regulation changes in the 2026 season.

The elastic testing schedule planned for Lewis Hamilton helped him test under different weather conditions despite crashing out his chassis. Ferrari seems all set with the chassis development as the revelation date nears. Moreover, F1’s tire provider Pirelli is keen on gaining early information about the tires for the regulation changes for the 2026 season.

Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will sit behind the wheels of the SF-24 chassis with over 30kg reduction from them. This change in weight is to ensure that the vehicles better resonate with the modern challengers. The test will take place on the 4th and 5th of February over the Barcelona circuit with Pirelli representatives being present. The SF-24’s ballast will be removed to reduce weight during the testing sessions.

Lewis Hamilton opens up about the ‘massive different’ aspect of racing for Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton has only raced for British constructors in the past, namely McLaren and Mercedes. Hence, racing for Ferrari under the Italian fans would be an extremely different feeling for him. The 40-year-old anticipates a massive difference in terms of fans. Hamilton reckoned that the Brit fans were more quiet and calm while emotions ran high amidst the Italians.

I expect it to be massively different. The two teams I’ve been with have been British teams, so I’m going into a completely different culture in Italy. If you think about us Brits, we’re very quiet, more calm. When you have success, when you have difficult days, everyone’s kind of more chilled out, as where Italians are much more emotional.

Lewis Hamilton told Sky Sports

Hamilton is expected to take Ferrari back to their championship-winning days in Formula 1 and end their victory drought. Both Leclerc and the 40-year-old will form a highly formidable pair and grant the team monumental success. However, it will be interesting to witness which driver comes out on top as the 2025 season nears commencement.
