Mercedes faced online criticism after the Canadian GP. Lewis Hamilton now takes a stand for his team and defends George Russell. While talking to media, Hamilton commented on allegedly being put at a disadvantage by Mercedes.

Lewis Hamilton addressed the critics and responded to the negative comments on social media. The Briton emphasized, his team has always been strong and hardworking over the years. He acknowledged it’s easy for people to get emotional in such situations. Hamilton explained, despite these criticisms the team remains united and focused on working together to achieve it’s goals.

Further, Hamilton expressed showing support is more helpful than keeping an eye on negativity. The 39-year-old mentioned, he wasn’t aware, teammate George Russell was facing negative comments online. Hamilton addressed Russell’s effort in every race weekend and is continuously improving alongside the team. Hamilton reckoned that Russell should not be blamed for anything, criticism is not fair for him considering his hard work. Recently, Mercedes’ James Allison dismissed rumors of Hamilton being put at a disadvantage.

Lewis Hamilton mentioned, every team can find the areas where they need to improve. To address this areas, it is important for teams to talk openly and communicate with team members. Hamilton pointed out, this is something Mercedes have been continuously focusing on. Despite any challenges, everyone at his team is working towards the same goal and putting the same effort.

Of course, there always be things that can be improved within the team. And this goes through conversations, through communication. This is something we have consistently worked on.

Lewis Hamilton reckoned, everyone in the team faces challenges and success together, and everyone works hard as they’re in the same boat. The 39-year-old also addressed the value of their long term relationship, their history together strengthens the commitment to overcoming obstacles.
