The infamous Singapore GP has always been a huge physical challenge for the drivers, the same was the case this year as well. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell were barely able to make it to their garages after getting out of the car and they even did not attend the post-race press conference.
A lot has been made of this and amidst the ever-going talk, Lewis Hamilton has recently deemed last week’s event as the toughest of his whole F1 career. One key thing to note here is that the Brit has been making his trade in the sport since 2007.
He is currently the second-oldest driver on the current F1 grid.
Sunday was probably the worst I've felt after a race in my whole career. So the car is really hot and our cockpit is (cuts off)...., George and I have been struggling with the heat.Lewis Hamilton via an interview

Looking at the reaction of the seven-time world champion, it is crystal clear that he had an extremely hard time in the cockpit of the W15 in Singapore. George Russell was even spotted putting his weight on the front left tire of his car to hold his weight after getting out of his challenger.
The inconsistent Mercedes’ W15 was ‘too slow’ at Singapore GP
While Lewis Hamilton has admitted to feeling the worst after a race in Singapore, he and his teammate’s outing on-track was pretty average as well. Russell managed a fourth-place finish while Hamilton fought hard to manage P6.
Seeing the tough state of things, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff admitted that the W15 was ‘too slow’ around the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
We took the wrong decision, and we took it jointly. But it does not hide the fact that the car was too slow. We struggle at tracks that are hot and tough on the tyres, but that is no excuse. It is not what we expect from ourselves, and it is difficult to accept.Toto Wolff via Mercedesamgf1
After Singapore, the Mercedes F1 team is pretty much out of the running for the 2024 Constructors’ Championship. The outfit has so far amassed only 329 points in comparison to Ferrari’s 441, Red Bull’s 475, and McLaren’s 516.
The remaining six races from the Brackley-based team’s point of view will be about doing the best job possible. Moreover, considering that Hamilton is leaving at the end of the season, Wolff and Co. would want to finish the campaign on a high.
