The Briton is also the second oldest driver on the grid after Fernando Alonso at 43. Now, the seven-time champion provided a timeline for his retirement amidst incessant rumors.
Multiple individuals believed Lewis Hamilton to be out of his prime despite a coveted switch in teams. Hamilton had previously commented that he was incomparable to any of his peers in Formula 1 due to his drive. The Briton squashed the rumors of his potential retirement after the end of his Ferrari contract in 2026.
Hamilton didn’t hesitate to claim that retiring from Formula 1 was something that was not at all on his radar. This meant that the 40-year-old did not plan to retire anytime soon. The Briton speculated that he could continue racing in the pinnacle of motorsport even until he’s 50 years old.
What I can tell you is, retirement is nowhere on my radar. I could be here until I’m 50, who knows.

Lewis Hamilton claims he ‘welcomes negativity’ following his Ferrari switch
Lewis Hamilton is notably the first and only black driver to participate in the history of Formula 1. As such, the 40-year-old had been subjected to a lot of criticism and racism following his dominant performances. Hamilton acknowledged that he welcomed negativity and used it as motivation. The Briton pointed out that he rarely responded to white men who commented on his career and asked him to do things differently.

I’ve always welcomed the negativity, I never, ever reply to any of the older, ultimately, white men who have commented on my career and what they think I should be doing. How you show up, how you present yourself, how you perform slowly dispels that.
Lewis Hamilton noted
Hamilton is all ready to be labeled as the ‘hero forever’ by the Tifosi after emerging victorious in the championship. The 40-year-old has received massive support behind his switch in teams. Hence, the seven-time champion must perform well now and return the Italian constructor to their lost glory in the pinnacle of motorsport.
