Lewis Hamilton reveals F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali’s big promise before the Britain’s retirement
Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali promised Lewis Hamilton that he would fulfill his biggest wish before retirement.

Formula 1 has grown as a sport under the leadership of CEO Stefano Domenicali. The sport has tapped into new markets and added more races to the calendar. Now, Lewis Hamilton has pointed out a promise made by Domenicali to the seven-time world champion.
Hamilton has been consistently advocating for F1’s return to Africa. The seven-time world champion has emphasized that the pinnacle of motorsport needs to get back to the African continent. Lewis Hamilton revealed that Stefano Domenicali has promised him that the sport will have a race in Africa before his retirement.
Moreover, the Mercedes driver praised the F1 CEO for working on diversity within the sport. Formula 1 recently announced its first-ever diversity and inclusivity charter. Lewis Hamilton’s efforts to bring more inclusivity was credited by the sport in its release.
Lewis Hamilton does not want Stefano Domenicali to step down
Rumors have emerged that Domenicali could resign as F1 CEO to head MotoGP. MotoGP was acquired by F1’s commercial rights holder Liberty Media earlier this year. Though, Stefano Domenicali has not addressed these claims. Lewis Hamilton made it clear that he does not want the 59-year-old to leave the grid anytime soon.
It is unclear if Stefano Domenicali will leave Formula 1 in the near future. Nevertheless, the Italian has been working consistently on improving the sport, something which has been acknowledged by many drivers including Hamilton.
