Lewis Hamilton set for ‘elastic’ F1 testing with Ferrari ahead of 2025 season

Lewis Hamilton is officially a Scuderia Ferrari driver after finishing the farewell activities with Mercedes in 2024. The Italian constructor is all set to welcome the seven-time world champion. Hamilton missed the opportunity to test with Maranello’s chassis after the Abu Dhabi GP due to Brackley’s interference. As a result, the Briton will now finally receive the opportunity to test at Fiorano.
The temperatures in and around the Fiorano circuit in early January are extremely low as Lewis Hamilton wouldn’t be able to test properly with the chassis. This meant that the Scuderia would have to test under ideal conditions as well. Hence, the team is set for ‘elastic testing’ the SF-25 with Hamilton for the upcoming season.
According to it.motorsport.com, Ferrari has planned to test with Hamilton at the Fiorano circuit on January 20th or 21st depending on the temperatures. Subsequently, the Briton will test at the Barcelona circuit during the last few days of January when the temperatures are milder. Moreover, the team has kept a four-day window in case the testing is canceled due to extreme weather conditions around the track.

Ferrari’s recent upturn in performance and strategy in the 2024 season is a highly motivating factor for Hamilton. The Briton will still have the mountainous task to acquaint with the new faces at Maranello. Regardless, the coming few seasons will be extremely exciting and interesting as the 39-year-old changed teams after almost 13 years.
