Lewis Hamilton Exposes Plans to “Unplug from the Matrix” After Humbling Ferrari debut

Lewis Hamilton suffered from the worst season of his entire F1 career during his Ferrari debut in 2025. Despite massive hopes and dreams coming into the Italian constructor, he couldn’t achieve anything notable with the team over the year. Now, after finally ending the final season of the ground-effect era, Hamilton is hoping to completely go off the grid and unplug himself over the winter break.

Lewis Hamilton was understandably critical of himself following the continuous failures at Ferrari in terms of performance. The issues were so much so that the 40-year-old labeled his debut year with the Italian squad as a nightmare. Now, Hamilton doesn’t want anything other than getting away from the noise of Formula 1 and finally taking a much-deserved break for a couple of months over the winter.

Speaking to the media at the ultimate race of the 2025 season in Abu Dhabi, Lewis Hamilton noted that he couldn’t wait to get away from everything. The Briton wanted the photoshoots and countless media appearances to finally end and not have to participate in any of them anymore. Though it might not be an easy getaway for him, as he is racing for the most historic team in Formula 1.

I can’t wait to get away from all this, Every week, photoshoots and all that kind of stuff. That’s the thing I look forward to one day, not having to do it all.

Hamilton insisted that he was only looking forward to the winter break currently and nothing else. The Briton hoped to disconnect from everything and not speak to anyone related to Formula 1. The seven-time champion shockingly claimed that he wouldn’t even have his phone with him and would not get in touch with anyone. As such, the Ferrari debutant hoped to unplug himself from the matrix and take a step back to analyze his current situation.

At the moment I’m only looking forward to the break, Just to disconnect, not ­speaking to anyone. No one will be able to get in touch with me this winter. I won’t have my phone with me and I’m looking forward to that. Completely unplug from the matrix.

Lewis Hamilton labels his 2025 Ferrari debut as a “season to forget”

After suffering from countless woeful weekends in the 2025 season, Lewis Hamilton would certainly want to put the entire season behind him. He did not have any notable results this year apart from a sprint race victory in China. Moreover, Hamilton was also beaten by his teammate Charles Leclerc and did not have a picture-perfect finish in the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

Now, Lewis Hamilton pointed out that he did not have much to remember about the 2025 season. The Briton wouldn’t look back at this year in the future and have many happy memories about it. Hamilton understandably noted that it was a season to forget for him, and he wished to move on from it as soon as possible. Thankfully, he will enjoy some away time as the next F1 season does not start atleast until the next couple of months.

Ferrari must work on their form and ensure much better results and opportunities in the upcoming season. The new regulations are already a massive unknown for every team, and the Italian squad can come out on top if they ace the regulations. Lewis Hamilton will certainly be present to reap the benefits of a comeback from the team and hopes to return to his winning ways as soon as possible.
