Lewis Hamilton‘s first visit to Ferrari’s factory in Maranello was met with massive fan attendance over the city. The Italian constructor welcomed the seven-time champion with great Italian hospitality. The Briton also visited some key venues in and around the factory, especially one close to Michael Schumacher since his days with Ferrari.
Lewis Hamilton initially met Team Principal Fred Vasseur and Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna during his initial days. Following the two-day itinerary planned with Ferrari, the 40-year-old met up with Enzo Ferrari‘s son Piero Ferrari. Hamilton was also accompanied by his father Anthony Hamilton and his mother Carmen Larbalestier over his visit to Maranello.
Hamilton, joined by his parents visited Michael Schumacher‘s favorite restaurant Ristorante Montana after the formalities. Piero Ferrari joined the family for dinner at the restaurant as well. However, no images or information was shared about the outing between the two families as the Briton prepares for other objectives with the team over the pre-season testing.
200 yards away from Fiorano’s first corner is Ristorante Montana – Michael Schumacher’s favourite haunt when he was Ferrari’s golden son. On Tuesday night, Lewis dined there with his father Anthony, mother Carmen and stepmother Linda, in company with Piero Ferrari, the second and only surviving son of Enzo Ferrari.

Apart from his performances in Formula 1, Lewis Hamilton is also infamous for his vegan food choices in recent years. The report added that the 40-year-old enjoyed an all-vegetarian meal at the restaurant while his parent’s choice wasn’t revealed. Apart from this, Piero Ferrari claimed that Hamilton was ‘perfect’ for Ferrari with no arrogance in his demeanor.
I asked this veteran of Ferrari drivers how he found Hamilton on first appearances as he tucked into his vegetarian ragu. Maurizio, grey of hair and warm of nature, smiled. ‘Perfecto,’ he said. ‘No arrogance. Tranquillo. He is just right for Ferrari.’

Hamilton’s stint with Ferrari already seems extremely promising followed by the massive support towards him. The Briton had reportedly caused a state of emergency in Maranello during his first visit to the factory. Hence, this means that the 40-year-old is prepared to be hailed as a hero by the Tifosi following his performances.
