Lewis Hamilton’s heartwarming departing gift to 3000 Mercedes employees revealed

Lewis Hamilton bid an emotional farewell to all the employees before entering Ferrari for the 2025 season. The German carmaker had planned a mega farewell for the Ferrari-bound Mercedes star during the end of the 2024 season. Following the culmination of the activities, Hamilton gifted the entire crew with a parting gift with which the employees can remember him.
Lewis Hamilton approached the England-based visual artist Paul Oz to design a parting gift for Mercedes. Hamilton’s only requirement for the painting was that it focus more on the car rather than the driver. All 3000 company employees received a copy of the painting, while the original one hung at the team’s headquarters in Brackley. Oz confirmed that no commercial copies of the painting were available for the fans, showcasing the specialty of the gift.
Now that it’s public knowledge and all 3000 Mercedes GP employees have received their prints of this, I can talk about it. This original oil painting now hangs in Brackley. No prints are commercially available.

Paul Oz painted an image from Monaco 2019, just a few days after Niki Lauda‘s passing, where Hamilton paid his tribute by painting the Halo red in color. The 40-year-old dominated the race back then and paid his due diligence to Lauda. Hence, Oz’s painting touched everyone’s heart within the factory as the seven-time world champion left behind an extremely memorable memorabilia.

Commissioned by Lewis himself as a departing present for everybody at Mercedes… class act! My only remit was that I should focus on the car rather than Lewis, and so I chose to paint an image from Monaco 2019, just a few days after Niki Lauda. passed and the team ran a red halo to remember Niki. Lewis stuck it on pole then dominated the race.

The team has celebrated the Briton’s entry with great grandeur as the team has banked massive hopes on him.
