Liam Lawson reveals Max Verstappen ‘supported’ him even before F1 debut

Liam Lawson will be partnering Max Verstappen at Red Bull in 2025. The 22-year-old has finally got the chance to race alongside the four-time world champion. Now, the Kiwi driver has recalled Verstappen’s immense support throughout his career.
Lawson highlighted that during his junior days, including a stint in Japan’s Super Formula, Max Verstappen was always there to support him. The 22-year-old emphasized that the Dutch driver is a massive motorsport fan who often watches various categories. This support continued when Liam Lawson became Red Bull’s reserve driver.
The Kiwi driver confessed that when he made his F1 debut at the Dutch GP in 2023, he was feeling the pressure. It was Max Verstappen who talked to Lawson to calm him down and prepare him for the race, showing that the two have a great relationship.
No one better to ‘learn’ from than Max Verstappen
Liam Lawson is delighted to have the four-time world champion as his teammate at Red Bull. The 22-year-old insisted that there was no one better on the grid than Verstappen. As Lawson can learn a lot from the Dutch driver during their time together at Milton Keynes.
