Former world champion Mario Andretti has praised McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, along with Mercedes youngster Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Antonelli is set to make his Formula 1 debut for the Silver Arrows in 2025.
Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have been very competent this season, securing a total of 593 points for the Papayas. The latter has set his foot into the groove despite making his debut only a season earlier. Norris, on the other hand, has matured and refined himself as a reliable driver.
Mario Andretti has expressed his enthusiasm for 18-year-old Antonelli. He further deemed Norris and Piastri as potential championship-winning drivers in light of their performances this season.
Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are two extremely fast and competitive youngsters, but they have never been in this situation. Maybe not everything went the way they wanted, but they have a wonderful future ahead of them.

Antonelli will be replacing Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes, following the seven-time world champion’s move to Ferrari. Andretti believes that the the future of the Silver Arrows and F1 is safe in his young hands.
Especially because he is a boy who is talked about a lot and who will be on an important team. Mercedes has chosen to look to the future, and the future of Formula 1 is in the hands of talents like him. The fact that he is Italian makes everything even better.
Mario Andretti added
As Antonelli gears up to make his first runs as a full-time Formula 1 driver, Piastri and Norris will be hoping to win more races from here on. Their efforts in the last three races can ascertain whether or not McLaren claim the constructors’ championship this season.
Ex-f1 driver urges Andrea Kimi Antonelli to find balance post-Mexico GP practice run
Former Colombian driver Juan Pablo Montoya has cited his concerns regarding young prodigy Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Kimi Antonelli drove around the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez during the FP1 session in Mexico.

Juan Pablo Montoya feels that Kimi Antonelli did not drive to his full potential at the Mexican GP practice. Montoya has since urged the 18-year-old to not become too cautious but to maintain a balance in his efforts here on.
In my opinion, he drove too carefully in Mexico not to make mistakes. In Monza there was criticism because he crashed; in Mexico he was too slow, and of course that is not good either. You have to find the right balance, and I see that as a problem.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli told Radio W via gpblog
Antonelli will become the youngest driver for the Brackley-based team when he starts at the Australian GP next season. His main target will be to secure points and win races for Mercedes as soon as he can.
