A former F1 executive, Mark Gallagher believes that Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton are stuck in a vicious cycle. The Brackley-based team’s failure to fix their 2024 challenger has led to lackluster performance, and that has in turn frustrated the seven-time world champion.

Lewis Hamilton has entered his final year with Mercedes and he is having a really hard time driving the W15. The challenger that was supposed to be the team’s hope has turned into its worst nightmare. Because of the ongoing struggles, the Brit has so far proved second best at Mercedes in comparison to Georg Russell.

While talking about the dire situation at Mercedes, Mark Gallagher had the following to say.

Lewis is what he is and that is a highly experienced seven-time champion who exists to win. He doesn't exist to qualify in the third row or the fourth row and get a podium maybe if things go well. He's there for winning and he is going to give himself a hard time if things aren't going well but he will also give the team a hard time. That's what you expect of the great drivers in a way.

Gallagher, with his comments, has made it quite clear that Hamilton does not deserve to be fighting for the lower positions in the top 10. Next up on the calendar is the Chinese GP and considering this, it will be fascinating to see what kind of a car Mercedes will present the Brit with at the Shanghai International Circuit.

Massa feels it will be great to see Hamilton repping up the red of the Maranello-based outfit.

For next year it will be a big change in Ferrari with Lewis deciding to move from Mercedes. I think that's really nice, it's really interesting. Even for the marketing. Everyone is talking about that. It will definitely be nice to see Lewis with the red suit in the red car.

Hamilton has been making his trade with Mercedes since 2013. During the turbo hybrid era, he amassed several accolades with the Toto Wolff-led team. However, seeing the woes of the German team since the end of 2021, he has decided to look for a different challenge. He will have several eyes glued on him during the 2025 season of the sport.
