Adrian Newey announced his departure from Red Bull at the start of the season, due to alleged internal conflicts within the team. Although Red Bull has struggled with pace in recent races, critics suggest that the aero-genius’s exit is a contributing factor. However, Max Verstappen has denied that the team’s recent difficulties are related to Newey’s departure.

Max Verstappen believed that the recent problems with the car weren’t due to Adrian Newey leaving the team. He argued that it wouldn’t make sense to think that just because a designer leaves, car’s performance would suddenly drop. The Dutchman believed that a lot more factors can influence a car’s performance but they don’t know where it went wrong. Blaming Newey’s exit alone doesn’t provide a complete explanation.

No, I don't think so. It wouldn't be logical to assume that a designer leaves and suddenly the car is less good.

Verstappen mentioned that the team needs to work on finding a better balance for the car, as it was the major problem at Zandvoort. If the car is balanced correctly, it will perform better, and the team will have more options to make changes to the car setup. This will help the team handled the tires more effectively, which is important for better results.

We have to find ways and means to find a better balance for the car again, then there will automatically be more options for set-up and also better tire management.

Max Verstappen asserts the world will not end if he fails to defend his title.

Max Verstappen explained that he isn’t worried about losing his chance to defend his title. He stated that he really wants to keep his title and will do everything he can to make it happen. However, he would not get devastated if that won’t happen or if he doesn’t succeed. He’s determined but also understands that there are more important things in life than just winning.

I'm not worrying about that. Of course I want to successfully defend my title and I will give everything to achieve that. But if that is not possible in the end, then my world will not end.
Max Verstappen stated.

Certainly, Max Verstappen has said he won’t react strongly whether he wins or loses the title this year. It’s his duty to keep going no matter the results. However, fans are hoping Red Bull will bring the necessary upgrades to the car to make it easier for Verstappen to maintain his lead in the championship.
