The 2024 Mexican Grand Prix has become a thing of the past following yesterday’s 71-lap race but despite this, the flames around it are still burning bright. Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons since the culmination of the event and amidst this, Charles Leclerc‘s post-race press conference has been going viral in regard to Verstappen.
Charles Leclerc managed a third-place finish at the technical Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez racing circuit. Following this, in the top three finishers press conference, Leclerc mistakenly dropped the F-bomb and immediately regretted his antics.
Max Verstappen was punished with community service as his penalty for saying ‘fu*k’ during the Singapore GP weekend. In light of this, Leclerc added the following.
Verstappen’s Singapore saga with the FIA has become infamous among the F1 community. Both parties really did not back down during the whole three-day weekend and the Dutchman eventually was punished with community service as a punishment.
Charles Leclerc could face Max Verstappen-like punishment in the coming days
While Charles Leclerc immediately regretted dropping the F-bomb in Mexico, as per racingnews365, he could come under fire from the FIA. The governing body’s stance regarding such things has gotten extremely strict since Verstappen’s antics.
The reigning world champion has always cut out as a blunt figure at the pinnacle of motor racing. Before the ban on the F-bomb, he was one of the drivers who used to use the word frequently during the Grand Prix weekends.
However, since the ban, Verstappen has stopped using the word and has stuck to using acceptable language. When it comes to Leclerc, the FIA could impose a fine on him or simply let it slide keeping in view that he did not do it on purpose.
The 27-year-old tracked back on his mistake and immediately regretted his antics. This could persuade the FIA to refrain from giving Leclerc and hefty fine or punishment in some other form. The governing body could come out with a strong statement regarding this in the upcoming days.
