Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has spoken on his former teammate Daniel Ricciardo‘s recent departure from Formula 1. Ricciardo was sacked from Visa Cash App RB after the Singapore Grand Prix last month.

Daniel Ricciardo was one of the most talented drivers in Formula 1. From an early age, he started establishing his mark as the top driver for HRT and then Red Bull. Things went downhill for the Australian since he left the Milton-Keynes-based team in 2018.

Max Verstappen told the media including Planetf1.com

While Ricciardo’s poor run made it necessary for RB to sack him, some felt he could still have been given another chance. The vibrant Aussie’s presence will be missed by everyone as the Formula 1 extravaganza has reached Austin this week.

I’m not really worried about anything. I just want to have fun and try to do the best I can. Every race is important and naturally this one is very important and we want to do well. We’ll see with the upgrades we have what it does to the car. Also a lot of changes to the track with the tarmac, so we also need to get on top of that.

Max Verstappen told SkySportsF1

Verstappen has claimed not to be overly worried about the circumstances despite his team’s recent struggles. The 27-year-old has urged his squad to handle the changed tarmac to deliver good results at the US GP.

With only 41 points separating McLaren and Red Bull, the battle will be fierce between the two teams in the closing stages of this season. The Friday practice will play a part in revealing which team comes out on top in Austin this weekend.
