Red Bull had a disappointing start to the 2024 season, particularly due to massive investigation into Christian Horner. Horner’s alleged inappropriate behavior investigation snowballed into a mass exodus within the team which is still ongoing. Max Verstappen reckoned that under late Red Bull co-owner Dietrich Mateschitz, the issues would’ve been solved much better and quicker.

Dietrich Mateschitz passed away in 2022 which caused a whirlwind of issues at Red Bull‘s Formula 1 team, especially amidst the top spots. Christian Horner‘s investigation saga early on in the 2024 season was ruled out by Red Bull, claiming the team boss to be innocent. However, the investigation saga dragged on for multiple months without a clear verdict.

Max Verstappen believed that the verdict would’ve arrived much quicker under Mateschitz. The Dutchman highlighted that the matter was ‘not very nice’. The 27-year-old didn’t hesitate to claim that the case would’ve been resolved quickly if Didi were still alive.

Of course the matter was not nice, but I claim that this case would have been resolved very quickly with Didi Mateschitz.

Verstappen is extremely close to Red Bull advisor Dr. Helmut Marko. The Austrian has been with the Dutchman since his young age in junior karting. The 27-year-old highlighted that he was currently ‘happy’ racing with Milton Keynes. However, the reigning world champion asserted that his single condition was that his ‘discovere’ and ‘sponsorer’, Marko must stay with the team.

Well, I’m happy where I am. And one condition of mine is always the same: my discoverer and sponsor Helmut (Marko, the Red.) must stay.

Red Bull will have to work on the 2025 season’s chassis despite the massive personnel change. Liam Lawson is set to take the place of Sergio Perez and get up to speed as soon as possible. Lawson will receive the opportunity to go up against the best driver on the grid and learn a lot in the process.
