Max Verstappen dominated the past two seasons, winning nearly all possible GPs, showcasing exceptional driving skills. Critics argued it’s the car that helped him win races, while others disagree. However, due to the RB20’s poor handling recently, Verstappen hasn’t reached the podium in the last four races. This revived the debate over whether it’s the car or his talent. Recently, he was asked if he considers himself the best driver.
Max Verstappen believed that it is pointless to argue about who the best driver is. He mentioned that every driver is good in their own way. Verstappen admitted that he might not have been great at driving on dirt tracks, but he could improve with practice there. However, he felt that the best racing drivers are those who could quickly learn and adapt to different situations. Therefore, the Dutchman reckoned everyone has their strengths, so there is no need to debate who is the best overall. Recently, in David Coulthard’s claimed that the best drivers end up in the best cars
We should not have that debate because everyone is good in their own ways. I wouldn’t be good in dirt, maybe if I practiced? I don’t know. At the end of the day, good racing drivers pick things up quickly.Max Verstappen said.

Max Verstappen explained that a driver’s skill often depends on what they grew up doing. He mentioned that for him personally, transitioning from karting to Formula 1 felt natural because that was his background. However, he admitted that racing on dirt is unfamiliar to him because he has no experience with it and doesn’t really know how to do it. Therefore, karting and F1 came more easily to him due to his familiarity with them.
It all depends on what you grew up with, for me going into karting and then F1, they are more natural to me than racing on dirt because I have no clue how to race on dirt.Max Verstappen added.
