Christian Horner claims all races will be crucial for Sergio Perez’s Red Bull future
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, has applauded the team’s performance while also pointing out Sergio Perez‘s ongoing shortfalls on the grid. Perez has been inconsistent for the Milton-Keynes outfit since the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
Well, all the races are crucial. Because, the Constructors’, yes, we’ve extended on Ferrari, but McLaren have closed the gap by seven points. And we can’t just rely on one car, so we desperately need Checo to start scoring good points again.Christian Horner replied to Speed City Broadcasting
Christian Horner has stated that McLaren has closed the gap by seven points and will continue to do so with the force of their two consistent drivers as compared to Red Bull’s only one. Horner feels the prolonged nature of Sergio Perez‘s underperformance will cost the team dearly in the constructor’s championship.
The 34-year-old driver faces the axe of the Milton-Keynes outfit, having signed a new deal but incessantly failing to notch points and podiums. Perez will now have to make his best efforts in the upcoming races to revive his trajectory and meet his contract requirements for the campaign.
