Fans from all over the world showed up to watch the Group D opening match of the EURO 2024 between the Netherlands and Poland. However, a clear peculiarity struck the cameras as a devoted motorsport fan was captured donning a Max Verstappen jersey in support of Holland.

Red Bull Racing driver, Max Verstappen is currently one of the most competitive pilots in F1 and is of mixed Belgian and Dutch origin. The 26-year-old driver is an ardent supporter of the Netherlands and has his fair share of fan following spanning across the globe.

The recent match between the Netherlands and Poland finished 2-1 in favor of the Dutch, as the fans cheered and celebrated a crucial win for the Orange Legion. A hilarious moment was captured by the crowd cam in which a fan was repping the iconic orange jersey to support the Netherlands national team but had the #33 driver number that Verstappen used to use before winning his maiden world championship.

Max Verstappen leads the 2024 drivers’ championship in F1 and is looking to add a fourth consecutive championship to his impressive tally. As for the Netherlands, they enter the Euros as one of the favorites to win the coveted title.

Christian Horner labels Max Verstappen as demanding

Red Bull Team Principal, Christian Horner has critiqued Max Verstappen as a demanding driver for the team, which entails his hunger and passion for winning. Verstappen is in fine form this season but has faced issues with the RB20 on multiple occasions.

Christian Horner has spoken about the drive of Red Bull to be the very best and has been appreciative of their work ethic. He has also said that there have been greater vulnerabilities within the car as compared to last season but the team has managed to chart good results with their hard work.

Horner further clarified Verstappen’s demanding nature is a by-product of the passion within the team to win and do better every other time. Red Bull is currently on a hunt for a 4th consecutive constructors championship and is confident of their abilities even though they face tough competition from McLaren and Ferrari.
