Max Verstappen secured pole position for the first time in five months during the Qatar GP. However, the Red Bull driver was forced to start from second place, behind George Russell. Now, Verstappen has expressed his feelings over the grid penalty after pulling off a dominant victory.

The four-time world champion was handed a one-place grid drop for driving unnecessarily slowly which forced George Russell to avoid the Dutch driver. Max Verstappen did not hold back from criticizing the Mercedes driver after the race.

It was very nice that today was a dry win, has been quite a while. It seems like we were finally back in that fight on pure merit. I have nothing to lose anymore, but I still want to try and win.

The Red Bull driver has shown impressive pace in the past few races. Verstappen and Red Bull will be looking to get a solid result in Abu Dhabi to clinch second place in the teams’ standings from Ferrari. However, this would be an uphill task.
