Max Verstappen had a chaotic start at the Abu Dhabi GP. The Dutch driver collided with McLaren’s Oscar Piastri as the two fought for second place. The four-time world champion was left fuming after receiving a time penalty.
Verstappen was handed a 10-second time penalty by the Stewards. The 27-year-old had lost time himself after making contact with Piastri. While Oscar Piastri did not refrain from taking a dig at the reigning world champion.
Race Engineer Gianpiero Lambiase informed Max Verstappen regarding the penalty. The Red Bull driver slammed race control as ‘stupid idiots.’ Further, the Dutchman joked that he should ask the Stewards to increase this punishment to twenty seconds.
Can we ask for 20 seconds? Stupid idiots.

The four-time world champion has struggled throughout the race. Max Verstappen even lashed out on the team radio after locking up. The 27-year-old made it clear that it was almost impossible to keep the tires in the right window for the RB20. As they kept overheating.

Verstappen hoped to be in fight for victory at Yas Marina. However, the Dutch driver was forced into damage limitation shortly after the Turn 1 mishap. Luckily, the reigning world champion’s incident did not have any impact on Red Bull in the standings.
