Max Verstappen was extremely upset after the awkward and unrewarding strategy at the Hungarian GP. The Dutchman pushed himself extra hard for the podium finish against Lewis Hamilton. Due to this, Verstappen crashed out and succumbed to a P5 finish overall. Hence, the reigning world champion pointed out the blunders over the Hungarian GP and suggested a bizarre solution to fix them.

Max Verstappen missed the pole position during the Hungarian GP qualifying and managed a P3 start to the race. Additionally, he was extremely heated during the entire race and shared his issues with the strategy. Subsequently, the 26-year-old claimed that the strategy for the Hungarian GP was ‘very bad.’

The strategy was very bad.

Apart from this, the Dutchman suggested a ridiculous solution to ensure such problems don’t arise again. Verstappen claimed that the team had all the information required to come up with a great strategy. He genuinely believed he should’ve implemented the upgrades and planned the strategy himself.

We have all the information, maybe I should’ve put it in the car and fix it myself.
Max Verstappen added.

Max Verstappen claimed he ‘supported’ Sergio Perez despite the latter’s failing performance

Red Bull’s performance slump has taken a massive hit over Sergio Perez‘s form in the recent races. The Mexican driver is well behind Max Verstappen in terms of pace and competition. Perez needs to desperately rediscover his form to closely follow the Dutchman’s performances.

However, Verstappen still backed his Mexican counterpart despite the performance slump and noted that he shared a great relationship with Perez.

I support him every weekend. I answer all questions, including from setup. I have a very good relationship with him, that's not a problem at all.
Max Verstappen noted.

McLaren has risen up to be the closest competitor to Red Bull in the 2024 season. The Austrian constructor is massively losing against Woking in terms of performance. Hence, Milton Keynes will need to implement multiple upgrades in the chassis to continue to fend off against the rivals for the championship victory.
