Max Verstappen is regarded as the biggest talent of his generation. The Dutch driver swiftly made his way up the motorsport ladder and made his F1 debut at the age of 17. Now, the 27-year-old has thanked his father Jos Verstappen‘s approach.
The reigning world champion recalled that as a child, he would not stress about situations. Rather, he had a more laid-back approach. However, Jos Verstappen would not be happy with this mindset and scold the Dutchman, stating that this was not an approach for the future.
Max Verstappen expressed gratitude towards his father for pushing him during his karting days. The F1 star recognized that this was necessary in making him the driver that he is today. The Red Bull driver solidified his place in the history books with a fourth title in a row last year.
Racing keeps Max Verstappen ‘sane’
The four-time world champion highlighted that he is completely focused once he puts his helmet on and gets into a racing car. Max Verstappen insisted that this allows him to stay sane. The 27-year-old asserted that he still remains quite calm and relaxed before the start of any race.
Certainly, Jos Verstappen had a substantial influence on his son’s racing career as well as personality. The four-time world champion did achieve the dreams he saw with Verstappen Sr. years ago. Though, Max Verstappen remains hungry as ever to continue winning in Formula 1.
