Max Verstappen claims he’s ‘definitely happy’ for Charles Leclerc’s incredible Monaco GP victory
Max Verstappen was thrilled to see Charles Leclerc become the first Monegasque in history to win the Monaco GP.

Charles Leclerc emerged victorious at the Monaco GP. The 26-year-old finally won his home race after a wait of over five seasons. Leclerc’s triumph was celebrated by the entire paddock. Even Max Verstappen praised the Monegasque driver for his incredible drive.
Leclerc clinched pole position for the Monaco GP after a stellar drive in Qualifying. Max Verstappen affirmed that the Ferrari driver had a perfect weekend in Monte Carlo. As Charles Leclerc avoided any mistakes throughout the race weekend.

Moreover, Verstappen claimed that he was certainly happy to see Leclerc stand on the top step of the podium. The three-time world champion highlighted that Charles Leclerc had faced terrible luck over the years at his home race. The Monegasque driver had to retire from pole position even before the start of the race in 2021.

Max Verstappen reveals the ‘hardest’ aspect of the Monaco GP
The Dutch driver had a nightmare weekend in Monte Carlo. Max Verstappen never got comfortable with the RB20 on-track. Moreover, the three-time world champion had joked on team radio that he should’ve brought his pillow for the Grand Prix.
After the race, Max Verstappen joked that from Lap 20th he needed to go to the washroom. The Dutch driver admitted that he had to control himself till the end of the race. Verstappen reckoned that this was the most challenging aspect of the Grand Prix.

Certainly, Max Verstappen would be looking to move on from the disappointing Monaco GP weekend. The three-time world champion needs to bounce back to solidify his lead in the championship. However, it remains to be seen if Red Bull’s upgrades for the RB20 extract more performance in the coming races.
