Max Verstappen prepares not only for performing well in the 2025 season but also for welcoming a kid with Kelly Piquet. Verstappen and Piquet announced the pregnancy during the 2024 season finale in Abu Dhabi. Now, the reigning-world champion has shared his opinions on managing both duties of being a father and a Formula 1 driver.

Max Verstappen‘s kid alongside Kelly Piquet is likely to inherit ‘great genes’ from the championship-winning family of both. The 27-year-old is already a ‘bonus’ dad to Piquet’s daughter Penelope from the latter’s relationship with Daniil Kvyat.

Verstappen hopes for ‘not many’ changes in his life after being a dad. The 27-year-old assures that there won’t be changes in his life ‘driving wise’. The Dutchman feels at a loss for words on being a father for the first time in his life. The reigning world champion reiterated that he is looking forward to the whole new experience.

Honestly, I hope not much will change. Driving-wise, it shouldn’t. It’s definitely very exciting. It’s very hard to put into words until the baby is born. But I’m definitely looking forward to it and looking forward to the whole experience.

Max Verstappen labels Red Bull his ‘second family’

Max Verstappen will start his 11th year with Red Bull after debuting with the parent team mid-way of 2016. The four-time champion has achieved incredible success with the Austrian constructor in recent years. Due to this, the 27-year-old had a homely feeling within Milton Keynes.

Verstappen highlighted that he could be himself within Red Bull which was very important. The 27-year-old insisted that since he had been with the constructor for so long, it felt like a second family to him. Moreover, the Dutchman asserted that Milton Keynes had more fun on the grid compared to others.

Well, for me personally, I can just be myself. I think that’s very important, to be able to be yourself within a team. For me, because I’ve been part of the team for so long, it’s a second family. And it seems like we have just a bit more fun than the average team on the grid and I think that’s also very important.

Red Bull must find an improvement over their 2024 season performance to enable championship contention chances for Verstappen. The Dutchman will face stern competition from the likes of Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, and Lando Norris.
