Liam Lawson is all set to deem his rookie season with Red Bull in the 2025 season. The Kiwi racer will be considered a rookie despite making his debut in Formula 1 back in 2023. McLaren Racing’s CEO Zak Brown believed that the youngster would go through ‘rookie weekends’ against Max Verstappen. However, the Red Bull ace hit back at the Briton for making such claims on the debutant.

Max Verstappen has already commented harshly against Zak Brown multiple times in the past due to the latter’s controversial takes. Brown recently shared his opinions on Liam Lawson‘s chances against Verstappen, believing the former to face issues.

However, Verstappen wasn’t mincing his words while negating Zak Brown‘s claims. The Dutchman anticipates that the Briton isn’t aware of the reality. The reigning champion speculates that ‘rookie weekends’ wouldn’t be happening, at least with Lawson. As such, the 27-year-old called out the 53-year-old to not talk about the matter considering the multiple implications.

You don’t know that, you can’t fill that in now. Who says rookie weekends are going to happen? You don’t know that. That’s why it’s better not to talk about it.

Verstappen reckoned that the ground-effect era was good for him in terms of success due to winning three consecutive world championships. The Dutchman explained that driving the cars of this gen wasn’t too fun as he preferred older cars.

In terms of success, it was good for me, obviously. But in terms of driving, it wasn’t the most fun, to be honest. I prefer older cars. It’s not as much fun going over the curbs anymore.

Max Verstappen said, as reported by grandepremio.com.

The final year of the ground-effect era is still pending as all the teams peak in chassis knowledge. Multiple teams look promising of a championship contention in the 2025 season. Moreover, the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, and many others set their eyes on contending for the drivers’ title.
