Max Verstappen claimed he preferred to ‘have a weekend off’ than attend the Goodwood FOS
Max Verstappen attended the event and drove around the circuit in the RB16B and showcased some donuts. The 26-year-old also put forth his wishes to witness Daniel Ricciardo at the future Goodwood events. However, the Dutchman had recently claimed that he would’ve opted out of the event if possible.
Verstappen noted that despite seeing the nice cars over the Goodwood Festival of Speed, he would’ve preferred to have a week off.
It’s always great to see nice cars, Of course, I’d prefer to have a weekend off but I couldn’t get out of this. So, we’re going to make the best of it.
Max Verstappen told Viaplay (H&T: themirror.co.uk).
The Dutchman has to focus on his performances in Formula 1 amidst Red Bull’s struggling pace. The team has managed to stay in the lead despite failing performances. Hence, Verstappen will have to continue working hard to extend the lead over the rivals.
