The 2024 season has been extremely challenging for Max Verstappen due to RB20’s disappointing pace. Red Bull worked overtime on the chassis in hopes of a revival of performances. However, the car didn’t perform well despite Verstappen’s streak of impressive performances this season. As a result, the Dutchman made a hilarious remark about the chassis in Abu Dhabi.

Max Verstappen emerged as a fourth-time world champion even with the disappointing pace of the RB20. The Dutchman kept up with performances, especially against McLaren’s dominant outings. The 27-year-old was spotted numerous times berating the performance of the mediocre chassis during race weekends.

Verstappen was already discouraged about fighting for the win at the season finale in Abu Dhabi. Hence, after securing a P5 qualifying position for the race, the Dutchman took a jibe at the chassis. The Dutchman joked that he would put his car in a museum for others to witness for many years. This meant that the 27-year-old was more than ready to put the season in the past and move on.

Max Verstappen looking ahead at a ‘vacation’ after having ‘enough’ in 2024

The 2024 season was extremely challenging, for not only Max Verstappen but the entire grid. The season contained the maximum number of races at 24 without any canceled. Hence, Verstappen reckoned that he was looking forward to having a vacation, especially after announcing Kelly Piquet’s pregnancy. The Dutchman concluded by highlighting that he had enough with the year.

I’ll do my best during the race but I’m looking forward to have a bit of vacation. It’s been enough this year.

Red Bull will have to work on their pace and performance for the upcoming season as well. The team lost the constructors’ championship without even a chance at contention towards the end. As a result, Milton Keynes must look into the issues and immediately work on improving the conditions in the final season of the ground-effect era.
