Max Verstappen recently entered a new chapter of his life. The Dutchman embraced fatherhood with the birth of his daughter Lily. The reigning world champion is spending some quality time with his girlfriend Kelly Piquet and their child. Now, Verstappen has hinted that he might already have plans for Lily’s racing career.
The Red Bull star followed the footsteps of his father Jos Verstappen to make it to Formula 1. While Verstappen’s girlfriend Kelly Piquet is the daughter of former world champion Nelson Piquet. Such incredible roots to the world of racing make Lily Verstappen an ideal prospect for the future. So much so, Dr. Helmut Marko insisted that Verstappen’s daughter must have racing in her DNA.
Max Verstappen was asked when he would buy her daughter a racing simulator. The 27-year-old is an avid sim racer alongside his F1 duties. The Dutchman could often be spotted sim racing, even during race weekends. Verstappen admitted that getting Lily a sim racing setup would be much cheaper than go karting. Thus, he would soon be contemplating such a possibility. In the past, the 27-year-old has hinted that sim racers could make it big in traditional motorsport and perhaps by the time Lily starts to race, this indeed turns true.
Well it’s [racing simulator] definitely much cheaper than racing in real life so i’d have to think about that.

Max Verstappen loves to spend time with family after races
The Formula 1 calendar is hectic. Drivers travel around the world with tightly-packed schedules. Sometimes, this makes it near impossible for drivers to get ample time with their families. This could potentially take a toll on one’s mental health, particularly if they are having a bad stint during the season. Now, Max Verstappen has revealed that his family helps him unwind from the busy life in the paddock.

The four-time world champion was asked how he managed to release the stress as an F1 driver. Max Verstappen claimed that he simply loved to stay at home. The 27-year-old just tries to surround himself with the people he loves, be it friends or family. Sometimes, even sleeping on his own bed at home feels special for Verstappen, as drivers live in hotels or motorhomes during all race weekends.
Just being at home, with my family, my friends. or sleeping in my own bed. Finally, being surrounded by the people who are close to me.
Max Verstappen explained
Certainly, Max Verstappen is a driver who loves his inner circle. The Dutch driver has the passion for racing, but does not want to compromise his time with family. So far, the Red Bull star has managed to maintain this fine line perfectly. But things might change as his daughter Lily grows up. As such, it remains to be seen how much of an impact does fatherhood have on Verstappen’s career.
