Max Verstappen is a calm and chill driver off-track who is a good friend to almost all of the F1 drivers. The Dutchman might be a menace while racing on the track but doesn’t back down from spending time with the drivers during the off-season. Hence, with the 2025 season starting, Verstappen shared a wholesome but funny moment with Oscar Piastri.

Aussie Oscar Piastri is one of the calmest drivers while racing around the circuit. The 24-year-old has never been spotted losing his mind while on the track despite facing difficult conditions. Moreover, Piastri is very well-trained in PR and answering media questions. As such, the Australian provided a very thought-out answer to a question about the team’s role in driver’s on-track decisions.

Max Verstappen immediately responded to Piastri’s great answer and noted that he had nothing to add. Piastri took quick note of this and responded with another witty remark. The Aussie claimed that he could answer all questions for Verstappen if the latter were ready to pay up.

Verstappen: Brilliant. So nothing to add.
Piastri: If you pay a fee, I can do all your answers.

Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri said in the Australian GP press conference.

Verstappen further responded to Piastri with yet another hilarious answer. The 27-year-old believes that it could actually work as the Aussie was great at providing answers. The Dutchman questioned if the 25-year-old wanted to sign a contract over the deal. The reigning champion further complimented the Australian and insisted that he could draft a side letter immediately.

Yeah, I mean, that would actually… You want to sign a contract? You’re good at it. Can just make a little side letter.

Max Verstappen added.

Max Verstappen believes winning seven world championships is ‘impossible’

Max Verstappen continues to inch closer to Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher‘s seven championship wins. The Dutchman would still need to race for many more years if he wants to surpass Hamilton in terms of title wins. However, Verstappen had previously noted that he wouldn’t continue racing in the sport for as long as other veterans like Fernando Alonso.

Verstappen reckons that it would be ‘great’ to win the record-matching seven championship wins. But, the Dutchman feels that this achievement is currently out of reach as he might not race for so long. The 27-year-old insists that he is in the sport to have fun and remain competitive, and not focus on just numbers.

Of course, it would be great if I could win seven world championship titles. But I don’t know if that’s possible. I’m in Formula 1 now, and I’m trying to have fun and be competitive. Everything has to come together to finish at the top.

Max Verstappen told Sports Illustrated.

Max Verstappen ‘very happy’ with Formula 1 achievements so far

Max Verstappen achieved some impressive results in Formula 1, especially after winning his fourth consecutive drivers’ title. The Dutchman had already pointed out that he had achieved everything that he wanted from the sport. However, Verstappen accepted that winning his fifth title would sound better than just four.

Verstappen reiterates that he is very happy with whatever he has achieved in Formula 1 so far. The 27-year-old added that one needed luck on their side to excel in any sport. The reigning world champion also took a snarky dig at the rivals and claimed that one also needed to be in the right team at the right time to keep winning.

Five world championship titles would be a bit nicer than four. But I’m very happy with what I’ve achieved so far in my career. To be successful, you always need a bit of luck. You have to be in the right team at the right time.

Max Verstappen explained.

Regardless of numbers, Verstappen focuses on enjoying his career before deeming an exit. The 27-year-old is also focusing on other aspects of his life, especially embracing fatherhood. The Dutchman still has a contract with Red Bull until the end of the 2028 season, which he is likely to honor. Hence, time will tell about the four-time champion’s plans in the future as he prepares for the 2025 season.
