Max Verstappen has been the driver to beat in Formula 1 since his maiden title in 2021. The Dutch driver has went on to dominate the grid in the ground-effect era. Now, the reigning world champion spoke his mind over potentially grabbing his fifth consecutive championship.
The 27-year-old had a challenging campaign last season with a four-month winless streak. Nevertheless, Verstappen defied all odds and won the world title with a couple of rounds to spare. On the other hand, the likes of McLaren and Ferrari will not leave any stone unturned to put up a fight against Max Verstappen this year.
Max Verstappen emphasized that ever since he joined Formula 1 in 2015, he has observed that one could never be sure about how the season would pan out. The four-time world champion made it clear that he will be heading to pre-season testing with a ‘neutral’ mindset, and wait till he gets to drive the Red Bull RB21.
In all the years I’ve experienced the winter months, it’s never been 100 per cent clear how good or how bad something is. That’s why I’m neutral on it, I’ll just wait until I’ve driven the car myself. Then you know a bit more.

Max Verstappen reveals he trained hard over the winter break
The Dutch driver spent a lot of time at home in the past few months. He mentioned that he likes to be at home during the winter, rather than staying at Milton Keynes. The 27-year-old claimed that he did as much preparation as possible last month. Max Verstappen spent time training and getting back to his rhythm ahead of the upcoming season.

I’d rather be at home, I can prepare more for the season. I also tried to do that as much as possible in January, to do this kind of thing as late as possible. So actually January was very nice. A lot of training at home, stable weeks, so to speak, a normal rhythm.
Max Verstappen explained
Certainly, Max Verstappen wants to win the 2025 F1 title. The Dutch driver will not be happy if he finds Red Bull struggling to match rival teams in pre-season. Nevertheless, Verstappen is a driver who is never afraid of pushing himself to the limit even during challenging situations.
