The 2024 Monaco GP was rather boring for F1 drivers. There was no change in the order of the drivers in the top 10 after the qualifying session. Multiple drivers were extremely tired after driving around the circuit with little to no racing action. Max Verstappen has since commented that there was no easy fix for the constant issues faced by the sport.
Max Verstappen faced multiple issues at the Monaco GP and was bored from racing around the circuit. The reigning world champion claimed that the sport needed to look into other things first such as ‘mandatory tires’. Additionally, Verstappen claimed that this wasn’t the first time that the race was boring for the drivers to drive around the circuit.
We have to look into maybe some other things first, just like mandatory tires or whatever, I mean, it's not the first time. Monaco has always been a bit like this.Max Verstappen said, as reported by racingnews365.com.
The reigning world champion pointed out that people now had more opinions about it now than before. Hence, the issues seemed bigger than they were to the fans. Formula 1 will have to continue to look into multiple other options to add to the Monte Carlo circuit to eliminate such a thing from happening again. However, the 26-year-old claimed that the solution to this problem would not be easy to fix.
Probably now more people have an opinion about it. But it's not an easy solution, I think.Max Verstappen noted.
Max Verstappen claims he is ‘happy’ with the current state of Red Bull
Red Bull has minimized errors for the majority of the ground-effect era. However, Milton Keynes engineers had downplayed Max Verstappen’s feedback about the simulator data error. Hence, the team is facing issues with this very problem during the 2024 season. Regardless, Verstappen revealed that he was happy at Red Bull. Additionally, the Dutchman pointed out that there was a lot of investment going on in the engine side of the challenger.
But I’m happy where I’m at. There’s so much investment going on as well with the engine side of things, and I’m happy. We just need to keep on working, keep on trying to improve our package.Max Verstappen said, as reported by planetf1.com.
As a result, Verstappen was only thinking about performing better and better down the season and scoring the championship victory. The points difference between trailing Charles Leclerc and the Dutchman is down to just 31 points. Hence, the team will have to pick the pace to bring the in-season upgrades to the challenger.
But yeah, that’s the only thing that I’m thinking about at the moment. I mean, I think if you start thinking like that, you can almost change at one point every single race if you want to change to another team or whatever.Max Verstappen added.
The 2024 season will showcase great racing action at the forefront between the top order of the teams. Red Bull is under constant threat from Ferrari and McLaren in the constructors’ championship. Milton Keynes had previously noted that they were reliant on the ‘Max Verstappen factor’ to win races in case of a disappointing pace from the challenger.
