Red Bull seemed to be in a state of turmoil at the start of 2024. Max Verstappen‘s father Jos Verstappen was often criticizing the team as it got surrounded by controversies. However, the 27-year-old has now defended his father’s actions.

Jos Verstappen engaged in a war of words with Christian Horner last year. The 52-year-old went as far as claiming that Red Bull was on the verge of falling apart. His comments have been criticized by many for negatively influencing Milton Keynes.

Max Verstappen labeled such backlash ‘nonsense.’ The four-time world champion claimed that his father understands how to see the bigger picture, how it impacts the Dutchman and the team as a whole. The 27-year-old asserted that people outside Milton Keynes might not see that.

The four-time world champion knows that Red Bull will be working around the clock over the winter break. The Austrian giant needs a solid start to the upcoming season to build an advantage like last year. However, it remains to be seen if Verstappen will have an easier time trying to claim a fifth F1 world championship.
