Max Verstappen admits Red Bull not expecting ‘miracles’ for Monaco GP Qualifying

The race weekend in the principality of Monaco has commenced. Max Verstappen expressed his displeasure regarding the RB20’s underwhelming performance in FP1 and FP2. The Dutchman felt, the car was lacking in terms of drivability.

The three-time world champion claimed the car to be jumping around ‘like Kangaroo’ and with the track being characteristically bumpy, puts the Red Bull team at a disadvantage.  While, the Dutchman was seen struggling in the practice sessions at Imola, he managed to emerge victorious, owing to set up changes. Max Verstappen claimed, Monaco to be a different story which doesn’t allow the Austrian team to bring about similar modifications.

It’s how the car is made and designed, and these kind of things you cannot change overnight, so we are stuck with that. We’ll try to make it a little bit better but I don’t expect any miracles.

Verstappen describes Monaco to be a special challenge.  Red Bull has established a win streak at the street track, having won for three consecutive years. The Dutchman looks forward to adding his name for the third time to the list of Monaco GP winners, however the RB20’s performance yet might cause a slight hinderance.

Max Verstappen claims Ferrari ‘miles ahead’ of Red Bull at Monaco GP

Red Bull’s easy domination may be over. Ferrari and McLaren are hunting them down for the win at the prestigious Monaco GP. The car’s underperformance, causing apprehensiveness to erupt in the Red Bull garage.

Ferrari has put itself forth as a viable competitor in the Monaco GP. Charles Leclerc showed the Maranello based team’s pace, by topping the time sheets at the end of FP2. The Dutchman described Ferrari to be miles ahead in terms of pace.

 [Ferrari] are miles ahead. I’m not even thinking about that for tomorrow, I just want to try and solve the issues that we have, try and make it a little bit more driveable, and then we’ll see where we end up.

Red Bull is struggling with the car’s lack in drivability. The Dutchman claimed that improving the characteristics of the car are of the utmost priority at the team. While the Milton Keynes-based team expects no miracles, they continue to express their hard work to put forth a desirable car.
