Max Verstappen cancels plans for game of padel with George Russell amidst public fallout
Max Verstappen reckoned that he wouldn't invite George Russell to a game of padel in Monaco following the argument between the two.

A majority of the Formula 1 drivers come together in Monaco after the end of the season to enjoy some outdoor activities. Max Verstappen is usually the one to arrange a game of padel with other drivers on the grid. However, amidst the public fallout between George Russell and Verstappen, the Dutchman confirmed that he wouldn’t want to invite the former.
The final two race weekends of the 2024 season witnessed a lot of back and forth between Max Verstappen and George Russell. Russell’s behavior to cause an unnecessary penalty to Verstappen sparked the whole argument. Following this, the Dutchman claimed he had no respect for the Briton. Subsequently, even the 26-year-old shared his side of the story and berated the four-time champion after feeling disrespected by the altercation.
Due to these events, it is highly unlikely that Verstappen will invite Russell. The two were also sitting far apart from each other at the Drivers’ Annual dinner in Abu Dhabi. The Dutchman confirmed that he’ll put inviting the Briton on hold at the moment. Moreover, the 27-year-old claimed he had enough friends to play padel with and didn’t need Russell.

Max Verstappen joked to ‘bring tissues’ for George Russell following the fiasco
George Russell’s responses were closely listened to by Max Verstappen as the latter had his quips ready as a response. Russell in his quotes had claimed that he had tears in his eyes at some point following the debacle. Towards this, Verstappen reckoned that the situation wasn’t as dramatic as pointed out by the Briton. Moreover, the 27-year-old joked that he would bring tissues with him in case such a situation repeated.
The 2024 season has been filled with controversies and drama between the drivers and the teams. Such events make the races all the more exciting as the drivers love to channel their frustrations out on the track. Hence, the fans will keep a close eye on Verstappen and Russell and see if they further put forth any funny remarks.
